Software Quality Testing Laboratory (SQUAT)

The SQUAT Software Quality Testing Laboratory operates under the Software Engineering and Product Testing (SEPT) division, part of the Technology and Engineering Services Support (TSS) department at the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC).
It is recognized as Thailand’s first ISO/IEC 17025-accredited software testing laboratory
(Accreditation No. 23-LB0066).

Quality Policy

SQUAT is committed to delivering testing services that meet international standards—ensuring accuracy, reliability, timeliness, and confidentiality across all scopes of service.
The following principles guide our quality management system:

  • Provide testing services that are accurate, precise, and timely according to defined scopes while maintaining client confidentiality and interests.
  • Ensure all personnel understand and effectively apply the Quality Policy, Quality Manual, procedures, and relevant documentation consistently and continuously improve quality.
  • Support the professional development of all staff to enhance their expertise and ensure access to adequate resources for achieving organizational goals.
  • Maintain independence and impartiality, ensuring that all management and testing personnel are free from internal or external pressures—commercial, financial, or otherwise—that may compromise the integrity of results.
  • Avoid involvement in any activities that could undermine trust, neutrality, judgment, or operational integrity.
  • Conduct all activities in full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, client requirements, and applicable regulatory and accreditation body standards.

 

Quality Objectives

    1. On-time delivery of work (PO/contract) ≥ 90%
    2. Customer satisfaction score ≥ 80%
    3. Complaints related to testing results < 5 cases
    4. 100% of critical testing instruments are calibrated and maintained
    5. 100% of testing engineers pass laboratory proficiency assessments
    6. 100% of nonconformities related to testing results are resolved
    7. ≥ 80% of staff receive training according to the personnel development plan

Mission 

    • Testing Services:
      Provide testing services for electronic products with embedded software in accordance with relevant international and national standards.
    • Testing Method R&D:
      Research and develop testing methods and tools for software quality assurance in electronic systems with embedded software.
    • Problem Awareness:
      Promote awareness of issues and risks arising from system operation through surveys, root cause analyses, and the development of prevention strategies.
    • Alliance and Knowledge Transfer:
      Build alliances to strengthen and share knowledge in software testing, empowering the Thai industry toward sustainable growth.
